London 2012: How Will the Games Affect London?
This year’s Olympic Games are one of the biggest things to happen to the UK in a long time. Almost seven years ago the people of London were told that their city’s bid had been accepted for the 2012 Olympic Games, and since then the entire nation has been preparing for the arrival of the athletes, building stadiums and complexes for living, and creating a whole lot of new jobs and opportunities. Everyone across the UK is patiently awaiting the madness to start, but what does all this mean for the people already living and working in London? Will they have to adjust their routine to fit around the hoards of tourists and different daily schedules? And does this mean for our biggest clients, the spas?

If you’re stressed, have some aches and pains, or just need some time by yourself, the benefits of spa treatments can be endless.

Easter is often a holiday that is too associated with stuffing our faces with chocolate eggs and other Spring type confectionary. This year, why not treat a loved one to something a bit different? The long weekend is something to celebrate and enjoy, whether you take a long weekend or simply a afternoon

As another part of the ‘Celeb Stalking’ blogs continues, this weekend saw me standing outside another Manchester hotel in freezing cold weather, with dozens of dedicated (but still classed as ‘obsessed’) McFly fans. As a pop-obsessed 13 year old back in 2004, I remember playing the McFly classic ‘5 Colours in Her Hair’ over and over again in my mum’s car cd player, and for a couple of years after that, McFly were my favourite band in the world; this obsession taking my friends and I to countless concerts across Manchester, and even making t-shirts to mark the event. Since the release of their third album though, my attention waned and they became less of a priority.

This weekend the people of Manchester got a special treat: Britain’s Got Talent returned to the city to search for the next Susan Boyle. Even ‘The King’ Simon Cowell himself was making his big return to British television at the auditions, which took place at The Lowry Theatre on Salford Quays. Situated a stone’s throw from the impressive new BBC headquarters at MediaCityUK, The Lowry is now a part of the biggest new media hub of the UK, so it seemed fitting that series six of Britain’s Got Talent would launch in such a prominent and up-and-coming location.
